What is anxiety awareness in the workplace training?

This 60 or 90-minute session is designed to raise awareness of anxiety, its common forms in the workplace, and how to have open, supportive conversations with colleagues. Participants will learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of anxiety in themselves and others, understand how to set healthy boundaries that reduce anxiety triggers, and apply practical techniques to manage anxiety in the moment. The session builds on the understanding that anxiety is one of the most prevalent mental health challenges at work, equipping employees with the knowledge and tools to respond to it effectively and to support those around them with confidence and compassion.

 

Course objectives

  • Understand what anxiety is, how it manifests in the workplace, and effectively challenge the stigma surrounding it.
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of anxiety in themselves and others, knowing when these may require support.
  • Set and manage healthy boundaries that reduce anxiety triggers, knowing when and how to signpost appropriately.
  • Prioritise their own mental wellbeing and understand that managing their own anxiety is essential before supporting others.
  • Apply practical techniques to manage anxiety in the moment and conduct calm, confident supportive conversations with colleagues.
